Uzbek professional boxer Shahjakhan Ergashev is set to compete for the world championship belt in his upcoming fight, as announced on the broadcast of the American TV channel "ESPN KNOCK OUT."

Currently ranked 3rd in the IBF ranking for the super lightweight category, Ergashev is considered a mandatory contender for the championship belt, which is currently held by Puerto Rico's Sabriel Matias.

In an interview, Matias expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Ergashev, claiming to be familiar with all of his weaknesses and predicting a knockout victory within 8 rounds.

When approached for a response, Ergashev spoke briefly with QALAMPIR.UZ, stating, "My opponent appears to be confident.  The outcome will be revealed in the battle.  I aim to create history and have been tirelessly working towards this goal.  Time will ultimately tell."

Previously, Ergashev's promoter, Dmitry Salita, confirmed his participation in the championship fight.

It is worth noting that on the 26th of May this year, Matias announced his intention to defend his title against a former world champion.  Prior to that, Ergashev mentioned to QALAMPIR.UZ that he was granted the opportunity to vie for the IBF belt.
