On November 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed Law No. 999, amending and supplementing several provisions of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, as reported by the Ministry of Justice.
The amendment includes changes to the fourth part of Article 248, addressing the carrying of cold weapons or objects that could be used as cold weapons, as well as Article 187 related to internal affairs probation officers. The law now grants probation inspectors the authority to draw up reports on administrative offenses committed by individuals under probation control, particularly those violating regulations on alcohol consumption in public places.
In 2023, a total of 83,763 individuals were under probation control by internal affairs bodies, and by the end of September 2024, this number had increased to 86,226, marking an increase of 2,463 individuals.
During 2023, 4,167 administrative reports were filed against individuals under probation for failing to comply with court-imposed prohibitions or restrictions. By the end of September 2024, 3,153 administrative reports had been issued.
Additionally, in 2023, 637 individuals were prosecuted under Article 226 of the Criminal Code for violating administrative control regulations, as they repeatedly failed to adhere to the court's imposed prohibitions or restrictions.
