If the Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khojaev and his deputy Anvar Asomov do not make changes in the food sector within a month, they will face severe punishment. This was announced today, 11 March at a video-conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoev on measures to develop industrial cooperation and localization of production.
It was noted during the meeting that two years ago, the food industry was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, a special deputy minister was appointed, a special fund was established, and all powers were transferred.
However, Agriculture Minister Jamshid Khojaev and his deputy, Anvar Asomov, were criticized for not addressing the issue and failing to renew the system.
“If they do not make changes in the food industry within a month, drastic actions will be taken against them”, – the head of the state said.
It was also noted that none of the governors keep records of the regional balance of imports, domestic capacity and goods that can be produced in the region.
"The plans presented by the governors confirm this. This is not enough,"-President stated.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with adopting a government decision establishing the responsibilities, clear calculations, accountability of the managers of each industry and region.
We remind you that at this meeting, the Head of State reprimanded two officials, and forewarned three representatives.
