The president signed a decision to employ the furniture masters

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decision "On additional measures to stimulate the production and export of furniture products".

According to the document, from 1 February 2023, to 1 January 2024:

• the export promotion agency will cover a part of the costs of renting office, commercial, and warehouse buildings abroad to business entities that export ready-made furniture products, the standard indicator for the area of these non-residential premises will be increased from 100 square meters to 250 square meters;
• when foreign specialists such as engineer-technologists, varnish, and paint spraying masters, and designers are attracted by local enterprises with at least 30% of their annual income from the export of finished furniture products, they receive 25% of the salary, but the minimum wage not more than 9 times of the amount is covered by the funds of the Export Promotion Agency;
• By Annex 1, a zero rate of customs duty is applied to the import of raw materials, spare parts, fittings, and accessories used in the production of furniture.

Also, the application of zero rates of customs duty for the importation of raw materials, spare parts, fittings, and accessories into the territory of Uzbekistan, provided for in Annex 2 to the decision of President No. PQ-5155 dated 21 June 2021, was extended until 1 January 2024.
