President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded the late Rustam Sabirovich Kasymov, former state adviser on public and religious organizations, with the “For devoted services” order. The relevant decree was signed today, August 30.
"The prominent statesman, scholar, and educator, the late Rustam Sabirovich Kasymov, is awarded the 'For devoted services' order on the occasion of his 70th birthday, in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to strengthening the country’s independence and its spiritual foundations, advancing healthcare, education, science, diplomacy, culture, and sports, training highly qualified personnel, promoting peace and stability in society, fostering interethnic and interfaith friendship and harmony, widely promoting national and universal values, and educating the younger generation in the spirit of love and loyalty to the Motherland", the decree stated.
Rustam Kasymov was born on 30 August 1956 in Tashkent. He held several high-ranking positions, including the first Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary specialized education, Minister of Higher and Secondary specialized education, Deputy Prime Minister for education, healthcare, social affairs, and youth policy, Presidential adviser on science, education, healthcare, and sports, and Presidential adviser on relations with public and religious organizations. He was also a member of the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and served as rector at various institutions, including the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the Academy of Public and state building, and the Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy. Rustam Kasymov passed away on 6 May 2021.
