Mirziyoyev orders an investigation of the actions of the security forces following the events in Karakalpakstan

Foreign forces stand behind the events in Karakalpakstan.  These actions have been prepared by foreign malicious forces for years.  This was stated by president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the meeting of video selector.

“Of course, these events were not organized in just one day and ten days”, - the head of state Says.

According to him, these actions have been planned by foreign malicious forces for years.  Their main objective is to infringe on the territorial integrity of Uzbekistan and to create an inter-ethnic conflict.

"In order to investigate the events thoroughly and impartially, an investigative team is working under the chairmanship of the Deputy Attorney-General.

This process should involve impartial parties, that is, representatives of the public, MPs, and activists”, - Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The Head of State instructed the Prosecutor General of the country, Nigmatilla Yuldashev, to thoroughly and objectively investigate each case and to give a fair legal assessment of the actions of the participants involved in the incident.

The Head of State also instructed that the actions of the security forces be analyzed.

“At this point, the actions of the security forces should also be carefully analyzed.  If they used unlawful force, they should also be held accountable to criminal responsibility in accordance with the current legislation," - the president said.

It should be recalled that the United Nations and the US Department of State called on the government of Uzbekistan to conduct an open and transparent investigation of the events in Karakalpakstan, as well as to investigate the actions of the security agencies.
