President awards the first Uzbek world fencing champion 

Uzbek fencers who took part in the world championship in fencing among juniors and youth in Dubai, UAE have returned to the country. They were solemnly welcomed by the Minister of Sports Development Adham Ikramov and Chairman of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation Rustam Shoabdurakhmanov at the Tashkent International Airport, named after Islam Karimov.

At the awarding ceremony for the fencers in the National Olympic Committee, the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan read out the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan on awarding Zukhriddin Kadirov the state award «Brave Boy». The award was solemnly handed over to the winner.

Athletes Zuhriddin Kadyrov and Zainab Daibekova (bronze medalist were awarded with one-time cash prizes in the amount of 5000 and 3000 USD respectively, while coaches Vladimir Nazlimov and Yorkin Yuldashev were awarded with 2000 and 1000 USD, respectively.

It should be recalled that Zukhriddin Kadirov became the first fencer in the history of Uzbekistan to win a gold medal at the world championship in fencing. Zainab Daibekova also won a bronze medal.
