Reports have circulated on social media claiming that staffing levels in the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan—as well as other state organizations—will be reduced by at least 50%. However, these reports have not been officially confirmed.
Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov addressed the rumors, emphasizing that staff optimization in state bodies is an ongoing process at all levels, from the Presidential Administration to its subordinate organizations.
"The main goal of this initiative is to eliminate overlapping functions, improve the efficiency of the state administration system and civil servants, and ensure the rational and economical use of budget funds across all departments," Asadov stated.
He also noted that the scope and scale of the optimization process will only be determined after conducting comprehensive studies and analyses.
"Therefore, we urge media outlets, bloggers, and social media users to rely only on official sources when sharing information on this topic," the spokesperson added.
