The president announces amnesty for prisoners on the eve of Eid al-Fitr

On the eve of Ramadan Khayit, the president signed a decree, giving amnesty to 65 citizens.  This was announced at a video-conference meeting.

"Ramadan is a month of generosity, kindness, and tolerance.  To be merciful and forgiving on this holiday is and duty for all of us", -the president said at the meeting.

In this regard, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, the president signed a decree pardoning 65 citizens who committed a crime by mistake, but who are deeply aware of their guilt and are determined to repent.

Officials have been instructed to create all conditions for these citizens to celebrate the holiday at home, with their loved ones.

At the same time, governors of regions, districts and cities, as well as heads of sectors have been tasked to ensure the celebration of the holiday at a high level.

"As the great thinker Mir Alisher Navoi said, we should not forget that being the cure of human suffering is the highest example of humanism and such a noble way of working should become not only our duty, but also our conscious commitment", - the president concluded.
