A new leader has been appointed to head the Department of Ecology in the capital

Akmal Rasulov has been named as the new head of Tashkent city's Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, as reported by the Ministry of Ecology.

This appointment follows the official order issued by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

Prior to his new role, Akmal Rasulov served as the deputy head of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change in Tashkent city.

Rasulov takes over from Farhod Dehkhanov, who assumed the position in November 2021. Dehkanov was arrested on September 9, 2022, on charges related to tree loss in the capital, abuse of power, and causing significant harm to the state or society. He was subsequently released.
