Pakistani Prime Minister congratulates President Mirziyoyev

On June 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha during a telephone conversation, according to the Presidential Press Service.
During the call, both leaders extended their best wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being to the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
They also discussed the progress of implementing the agreements reached during Prime Minister Sharif's historic official visit to Uzbekistan in February of this year. The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the steady strengthening of the strategic partnership between their countries and noted the increased dialogue and interaction at various levels.
The importance of successfully organizing the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum, scheduled for later this year, was emphasized.
President Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Sharif also exchanged views on regional developments and reviewed plans for future bilateral events.
As a reminder, Shahbaz Sharif paid an official visit to Uzbekistan on February 25–26 at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev. The visit featured a formal welcoming ceremony at the International Congress Center in Tashkent, high-level talks in both narrow and extended formats, and the signing of a Joint Declaration and a protocol on establishing a High-Level Strategic Partnership Council. Sharif also participated in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum before concluding his visit.
