3170Azerbaijan has extradited a 30-year-old Uzbek citizen, Arslon Kholmirzaev, to Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
The extradition was carried out following a request by Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor General's Office. Arslon Kholmirzaev was wanted internationally on charges of fraud involving significant financial damage.
He was arrested in Azerbaijan in January 2025, and the court ruled to keep him in custody. The extradition was executed under the October 7, 2002 Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters, with Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice and its Correctional Services overseeing the process.
It is worth noting that in March last year, two other Uzbek citizens wanted internationally were arrested in Azerbaijan.
