To further improve the living standards of the population, continue the steady growth of citizens' incomes, and strengthen social protection, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree increasing wages, pensions, scholarships, and social benefits. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

According to the decree, beginning July 1, 2025, pensions and social benefits—including child benefits and material assistance to low-income families—will be raised by 10 percent. Specifically:

- The minimum old-age pension will be set at 918,000 soums per month;
- The minimum disability pension will be 1,012,000 soums per month;
- Monthly child benefits for low-income families will be:

  - 360,000 soums for one child under 3 years old;
  - 275,000 soums for one child aged 3 to 18;
  - An additional 165,000 soums for the second child;
  - An additional 110,000 soums for each third and subsequent child;
- Monthly financial assistance for low-income families will total 420,000 soums.

Other types of pensions and benefits will be determined in accordance with the appendix to the decree.

Additionally, starting August 1, 2025, the salaries and scholarships of employees in budget-funded organizations will also increase by 10 percent.

The decree also sets new baseline amounts:

- From July 1, 2025, the base amount for calculating pensions will be 471,000 soums per month;
- From August 1, 2025:

  - The minimum wage will be raised to 1,271,000 soums per month;
  - The base amount for calculating wages will be set at 412,000 soums.

The costs associated with these increases will be financed by the State Budget of Uzbekistan and the extra-budgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Employers are encouraged to adjust wages in line with the new minimum wage to ensure compliance with national labor legislation.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance, in cooperation with the National Agency for Social Protection, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan, the National Television and Radio Company, and the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, will coordinate public outreach on the goals and expected outcomes of the decree across mass media, the Internet, and social media platforms.

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov has been assigned personal responsibility for the implementation of the decree. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov has been tasked with overseeing its enforcement, coordinating relevant institutions, and monitoring progress.

It is worth noting that earlier today, June 3, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov announced during a speech in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis that wages, pensions, benefits, and scholarships in Uzbekistan would be raised by 10 percent.
