Creative professionals to receive major benefits, including monthly royalties of 5 million soums

A number of benefits will be provided to creative professionals in Uzbekistan who achieve the best results during the year. This was announced today, June 1, during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with workers in the fields of culture and art.

According to the information, a National Congress of Creative Professionals will be held every year. It will serve as a kind of annual report for 21 creative associations.

During the congress, artistic evenings will be organized for members of these associations who achieved the best results during the year, and they will be duly rewarded.

For example, singers, musicians and composers who have created at least 10 songs or musical works, received the titles of People’s Artist or Honored Artist, won international competitions, or whose works are performed on national and international stages will be recognized in the field of music. In literature, poets, writers and playwrights who have authored highly acclaimed literary books, whose works have been published in more than 50,000 copies, whose creative works have been staged in theater or cinema, or whose poems have become hit songs will be rewarded.

They will receive monthly royalties of 5 million soums throughout the year and will be able to use planes, trains and public transport across Uzbekistan free of charge. Their treatment costs at specialized medical centers will be fully covered by the state budget. Master schools and creative houses will also be established for them.

The President supported a proposal that award winners who continue their creative work and achieve new results the following year should continue receiving these benefits.

To support young talents and their mentors, starting September 1, winners of national competitions will receive awards of 100 million soums, while winners of prestigious international competitions will receive up to 300 million soums. Their participation expenses will also be fully covered. Their teachers and mentors will receive salary bonuses of up to 100%.

These benefits and preferences will also apply to private creative groups.

Every year, 100 young people will be sent to foreign cultural and art institutions to study at the state’s expense.

To identify and promote young talents in the country and increase the number of business projects supporting producers, an Investment in Creativity Fund will be established and allocated 200 billion soums annually.
