Resources for preferential educational loans for Higher Education Institutions will be doubled

In the next year, resources for preferential educational loans for universities will be doubled and 1.7 trillion soms will be allocated.  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this in his address to the chambers of the Oliy Majlis today, 20 December.

This year, 1.5 trillion soms were allocated to science and innovation.  This means almost 6 times more than in 2017.  The salary of scientists has also been increased by 4.5 times.  Due to this, 18 new scientific directions, such as nano- and bio-technologies, and digital geology, were established.

According to the President, 1.8 trillion soms will be allocated for science and innovation next year.

"Now, our scientists must show concrete results in areas that are relevant for us today, such as water and energy conservation, soil fertility and productivity, geology, industry, and construction," says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
