Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia arrives in Uzbekistan

3937Today, October 2, Husayn Al Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of World Aquatics, arrived in Tashkent. His visit focuses on overseeing preparations for the Tashkent-2025 Asian Youth Games.
During the first half of the day, Al Musallam toured the Olympic Village currently under construction in the capital and assessed the progress of the ongoing works.
Following this, a meeting was held at the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan to discuss organizational matters. The directorate of Tashkent-2025 presented a comprehensive update on preparations for the Games.
Key topics covered included large-scale planning, the sports to be featured, the venues, expected delegation sizes, and logistical aspects such as transport. Al Musallam provided input on several areas, emphasizing the importance of addressing anti-doping measures, visa regulations, and air travel logistics.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Al Musallam praised Uzbekistan's efforts in preparing for the event and highlighted that the Olympic Village will showcase the country’s capabilities on the international stage.
Earlier, the President of the International Volleyball Federation, Ary Graca, also visited Uzbekistan to discuss strategies for elevating volleyball in the country. His focus was on increasing the sport's popularity, enhancing the skills of local specialists, and organizing major international volleyball tournaments in Uzbekistan.
