It is possible to turn another 26 streets in Tashkent into busy streets that work around the clock and to increase the number of 24-hour retail outlets by 1,000. This was announced today, February 7, at a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss the main tasks for the development of the service sector.

In recent years, great attention has been paid to the development of the night economy. A project to transform a 7.3-kilometer road passing through 17 streets in the Almazar district into a gastronomic street has been approved. 250 trade and service facilities will be organized on this street, creating at least 1,500 jobs.

It was noted that taking into account the opinions expressed by tourists, tourism and service points should be made open in the evenings.

It should be recalled that earlier it was reported that Taras Shevchenko Street in the Mirabad district of Tashkent would be transformed into a gastronomic street. The government decree established an entertainment street operating 24/7 to create an attractive and vibrant tourism and service infrastructure on the streets of the capital. To develop the night economy, the Agency for Strategic Reforms proposed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of recreation facilities on Fridays and Saturdays in 24/7 mode, to abolish restrictions on the working hours of night-time facilities, to transfer public transport (bus, tram, metro) to a 24-hour mode in each of the cities where the night economy is planned to be developed and to develop an electronic platform "Night Tashkent" to provide information on night-time facilities, night public transport routes, and special discounted offers on this platform.
