New mayor appointed in Almalyk

Barhayot Baxtiyorjonovich Meliyev was appointed mayor of Almalyk on June 8, the city administration’s press service reported.
According to the report, an extraordinary session of the Almalyk city Council of People’s Deputies was held in the city. During the session, Tashkent regional governor Zoyir Mirzayev delivered a speech on key upcoming tasks related to the socio-economic development of the city.
An organizational issue was also considered at the session. Qobil Murodqulovich Hamdamov, who had been serving as mayor of Almalyk, was relieved of his post due to his transfer to another position.
Mirzayev recommended Barhayot Baxtiyorjonovich Meliyev, who had been serving as head of the Tashkent regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, for the post of Almalyk mayor.
Deputies of the Almalyk city Council of People’s Deputies approved Barhayot Baxtiyorjonovich Meliyev as mayor of the city.
Earlier, it was reported that Qobil Murodqulovich Hamdamov had been appointed mayor of Nurafshon.
