We cannot overcome domestic violence simply with words. The law is necessary - Saida Mirziyoyeva 

Today, 24 January, a public hearing of the law on domestic violence will be held in the Senate with the participation of non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and activists.

Before the discussion, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Communications and Information Policy Branch of the Executive Office of the Presidential Administration, shared her thoughts on her social network page.

"Until criminal punishment for domestic violence is imposed, until the state's attitude to this crime is reflected in the Criminal Code, we will remain stuck in one place.

Without it, nothing else will help - neither superficial measures, nor the most advanced gender projects, nor attempts to educate with empty words.  First, it is necessary to introduce a law protecting women, and defining their responsibilities.  The rest will happen later," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
