Nuriddin Ismailov was elected as a speaker of the Legislative Chamber

On November 18, the first organizational session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent.

By the Law "On the Regulations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan," members of the lower chamber established a council comprising representatives of political parties to nominate candidates for the position of Speaker.

Following a brief recess, the Council of Representatives of Political Parties proposed Nuriddin Ismailov, a member of the Uzbekistan People's Democratic Party (UzKDP), for the position. Subsequently, the deputies elected him as the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber.

Nuriddin Ismailov was born on January 20, 1959, in the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region. An ethnic Uzbek, he holds a higher education degree, having graduated from Tashkent State University in 1980. He is a candidate of legal sciences and has received notable honors, including the "Fame" (Shuhrat) medal in 1999 and the "Friendship" (Dostlik) order in 2002.
