8821Lolagul Kallikhonova, who was found guilty of the Nukus events and was released on parole with a 3-year probation period, gave an interview to the media about the torture or lack thereof during the investigation.
"I am not afraid of journalists and people from the international arena. I fear God. Even when I was behind bars, I was not afraid of anyone. If I had been pressured, forced, or deprived of food or medicine, I would say it. I sat inside for more than six months. There was no pressure, when I wanted to drink tea, the detective himself made it. If there is pressure, it should be under investigation. I was investigated by literate, intelligent people. Those of higher rank led the work. There was no mental torture in the prison. I sat inside and read a lot of books," says Lolagul Kallikhonova.
When speaking about the trials, he added that the convicted were allowed to express their opinions, freedom of speech was ensured, and he admitted his guilt.
"We were allowed to speak in court. Davletmurat Tajimuratov was also allowed to speak and have freedom of speech in court. They did not prepare us for court. If they were preparing, I would have asked something myself. From the beginning to the end of the trial, I said that I am guilty, I deserve punishment," says Lolagul Kallikhonova.
Also, Kallikhonova added that Karakalpakstan was good even without the changes.
It should be recalled that Lolagul Kallikhonova was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in Article 159, Part 4, Article 244, Part 3, and Article 244-1, Part 3, Clauses "a", "b", "g" of the Criminal Code. , Article 57 of the Criminal Code was applied, and he was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment under the procedure of Article 59 of the Criminal Code, 6 months and 24 days were deducted from the sentence imposed on him under Article 62 of the Criminal Code, and he was sentenced to serve 7 years, 5 months and 6 days. The sentence of imprisonment was suspended, Article 72 of the Criminal Code was applied, the sentence was determined to be conditional with a probationary period of 3 years, and he was released from prison in the courtroom.
