Lolagul Kallikhonova, who was accused of the Nukus events, was released

As we previously reported, today, 31 January, a trial was held in Bukhara on the criminal case against 22 defendants accused of causing mass disturbances in the city of Nukus between 1-2 July 2022, and the verdict was announced.  This was reported by the Press Service of the Supreme Court.

According to the court's verdict, Lolagul Kallikhonova was sentenced to 3 years of probation and was released from prison in the courtroom.

He was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in clauses "a", "b", and "g" of article 159, part 4, article 244, part 3, and article 244-1, part 3 of the Criminal Code, and article 57 of the Criminal Code was used and was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment by Article 59 of the Criminal Code.  According to Article 62 of the Criminal Code, 6 months and 24 days of imprisonment were deducted from the sentence, 7 years, 5 months, and 6 days of imprisonment were suspended, and Article 72 of the Criminal Code was applied.

During the trial, the objections, proposals, and appeals of each defendant were taken into account.  The trials were held under full public scrutiny, in front of the international community.

It is known that in Article 18 of our Constitution, all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have the same rights and freedoms, regardless of gender, race, nationality, language, religion, social origin, faith, personality, and social status.  It is confirmed that it is equal.  Based on this, the principle of humanitarianism was applied to the persons related to the "Korakalpok events".

We remind you that on 12 January this year, a criminal case trial was held in the Bukhara Regional Court against 22 defendants in connection with the mass riots in Nukus.  In the court, the organizer of mass riots, Dauletmurat Tajimuratov, was asked to be sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment, and Lolagul Kallikhanova to 11 years.

For information, on 28 November 2022, the trial in the Bukhara Regional Court began in connection with the criminal case related to the mass riots that took place in the city of Nukus on 1-2 July.

According to the indictment of the preliminary investigation body, defendants D. Tajimuratov, L. Kallikhanova, A. Turdanov, A. Smetullayev, D. Jiyemuratov, B. Kadirbergenov, B. Seytniyazov, A. Toqimbetov, K. Seytimov, A. Nuratdinov, S. Medetov, N. Nayipov, P. Shamshetov, R. Bekmuratov, S. Kaipov, B. Genjebayev, S. Kalilayev, P. Nurniyazov, S. Kalimov, N. Sultamuratov, A. Temirkhanov and A. Adilbekov of the Criminal Code 28,104, was accused of committing crimes provided for in articles 104, 159, 164, 167, 227, 243, 244, 244-1, 247 and 277.
