The transfer of Uzbek national team striker Husain Norchaev to Portuguese club Braga has been canceled due to visa complications. The player himself confirmed this to QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the *Penalty* Telegram channel, Braga sent Norchaev a letter requesting a medical examination. However, at the time, he was in Doha, participating in the Uzbek national team’s training camp. With the Portuguese winter transfer window closing on February 3, he returned to Tashkent without completing the process.
Since Uzbekistan does not have a Portuguese embassy or representative office, Norchaev’s agents attempted to secure a visa through the Portuguese embassy in Russia via the French embassy in Tashkent. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan also intervened in an effort to resolve the issue.
However, due to time constraints, the Portuguese embassy staff were unable to issue a visa promptly. Norchaev was asked to travel to Moscow on Monday, but he needed to be in Portugal by February 3, not Moscow. As a result, the transfer fell through.
It should be noted that earlier, Sardor Rashidov had publicly discussed Norchaev’s potential move to the Portuguese club.
