A deceased elderly man was discovered in a gold mine located in Navoi. Hayat Shamsutdinov, who heads the information service of the General Prosecutor's Office, provided this information to QALAMPIR.UZ.

The individual, identified as a 30-year-old resident of Khatirchi district, Navoi region, known as O.N., entered the underground mine "Zarmitan" at level 840 on December 25, 2023, with the intention of stealing gold-containing ore stones from JSC "Navoi mining-metallurgical combine." Unfortunately, on January 15, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., while exiting the mine, he fell 10-15 meters due to a broken rope, resulting in fatal injuries.

A court-ordered medical examination has been initiated to assess O.N.'s injuries. The investigation department of the DIA in the Navoi region is currently handling the investigation into this incident, as stated in the report.
