On November 1, an extraordinary session of the Narpay District Council of People’s Deputies was held, during which a new district leader was appointed. The Samarkand regional administration reported the news.

Acting mayor of Samarkand region Adiz Boboyev attended the session and discussed the district’s ongoing efforts and achievements in socio-economic development. The organizational matter was then reviewed.

The regional leader proposed Anvar Begimovich Boliev—who had been serving as the first deputy mayor of Narpay district for financial, economic, and poverty reduction issues, as well as head of the Department of Economy and Finance—for the position of district mayor. Deputies unanimously approved his candidacy.

Until now, the district had been headed by Sherbek Bo‘ronov, who took office in June 2024. The reason for his dismissal was not specified in the statement released by the regional administration.

As a reminder, new mayors were also recently appointed for Karmana district in Navoi region and the city of Khanabad in Andijan region, while the hokim of Ohangaron city was dismissed and replaced.
