Citizens responsible for establishing an illegal drug manufacturing operation in the Namangan region have been apprehended, according to a report by the State Security Service.

On January 30th of this year, during a rapid operation conducted by the State Security Service of the Namangan region in cooperation with customs authorities, a paramedic from the Chortoq district ambulance service was stopped while leaving his apartment in a Cobalt car.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, in the presence of impartial witnesses, authorities discovered 1,000 units of the medication "Zodak" in the car's cabin, all lacking proper documentation.

It was revealed that the paramedic intended to transport these medications to the Andijan region for sale. Further investigation of his residence uncovered a concealed drug production facility, containing 763 units of "Anaferon," 2,125 units of "Zodak," 4,000 units of "Vitamin B6," 570 vials of unnamed syrups prepared for sale, as well as various vials, plastic caps, and stoppers, medicine boxes, and packaging instructions. These items were seized and documented by procedural protocols.

It should be noted that the paramedic enlisted the help of his sister, born in 1977, and a relative, born in 1974, in the preparation and storage of these drugs.

During the operation, authorities also seized 120 units of "Zodak," 260 units of "Anaferon," 96 units of "Khilak Forte," and 313 unnamed syrups from the residence of his sister.

A criminal case was initiated, and the investigation revealed that a 33-year-old resident of Andijan had supplied the paramedic with labels, vials, caps, corks, medicine boxes, and packaging instructions necessary for the drug manufacturing process.

Furthermore, during a search of the apartment of another individual involved in the crime, a citizen born in 1986 and residing in the city of Kokand, authorities seized 150 units of "Zodak" and 146 units of "Khilak Forte," with a total value of 27,646,800 soums. The seized items were formally documented by procedural requirements.

The investigation also uncovered the involvement of a student from a state higher education institution in the field of medicine, born in 1994 and residing in the Chortoq district, in the sale of these illegally manufactured drugs. It was noted that the drugs produced in this clandestine operation were primarily sold in the cities of Andijan and Kokand.

The Yangikurgan District Court of Criminal Cases found these individuals guilty of the crimes stipulated in Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code (production, storage, transportation, or transfer of goods that do not meet safety requirements). The paramedic from Chortoq District and the Andijan resident who supplied the raw materials were sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison, while each of the remaining four individuals received a sentence of 2 years' imprisonment.

All drugs seized as physical evidence were destroyed by legal procedures.

It is worth noting that earlier, in Tashkent, authorities dismantled a criminal group involved in the packaging and sale of large quantities of powerful drugs, leading to the arrest of those responsible for organizing a drug laboratory.
