3215Music and art graduates from higher education institutions are now eligible to work in schools. On November 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a presentation focused on improving the quality of music, physical education, and military patriotism in schools.
Currently, 21% of music teachers in schools have only secondary education, with some lacking the ability to play instruments. This gap stems from the absence of a practical training system for music teachers and a lack of cooperation with art schools. Graduates from cultural institutes are not being recruited as teachers.
To address these issues, several measures have been proposed to improve the quality of lessons. This includes assessing the knowledge and professional skills of music teachers and establishing a training system. New training manuals and a procedure for assigning teacher categories will also be developed. Drawing on the success of the "Turon School Theater," amateur art groups called "Iqtidor" will be established in schools. Additionally, music and art graduates from higher education institutions will be allowed to work in schools.
It was emphasized that regional music and art schools should be affiliated with general education schools as base schools, with regular exams held to identify talented students.
