The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has officially confirmed the extradition of Mubashir Ahmed (real name Alisher Tursunov), a religious scholar and blogger, as well as the founder of the information and analytical portal "Azon Global."

Earlier, reports emerged that Tursunov had been taken from his residence in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul by local authorities as a suspect. According to the ministry, Alisher Akhmadovich Tursunov, born in 1974 and internationally wanted by Uzbek authorities, was detained in Turkey on May 8 and deported to Uzbekistan on May 10.

Expert analysis concluded that the content disseminated via social networks and platforms created by Tursunov contained materials violating Uzbekistan’s laws. As a result, a criminal case has been initiated under several articles of the Criminal Code:

- Article 244¹ (Production or dissemination of materials containing a threat to public security and public order);
- Article 244³ (Illegal production, storage, import, or distribution of religious materials).

A preventive measure of detention has been applied as part of the ongoing criminal investigation.

Previously, unconfirmed reports suggested that Mubashir Ahmed was being deported from Turkey. While he was initially scheduled for urgent deportation on May 9, public intervention reportedly led to his temporary relocation to the city of Edirne. His extradition has now been officially confirmed.
