Earlier, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov congratulated President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the opening of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand. In response, President Mirziyoyev sent a letter to his Kyrgyz counterpart.
In the letter, the Uzbek leader expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for sending a distinguished delegation to participate in the event.
“This international forum is being held for the first time in forty years outside UNESCO’s headquarters, in the ancient city of Samarkand. Your kind words that this marks a shared success for the Central Asian region and reflects Uzbekistan’s growing prestige on the international stage are especially valuable to us.
I fully share your opinion that the important initiatives proposed and the decisions adopted at the conference will open new horizons for global cooperation in education, science, and culture, and further strengthen the spirit of friendship among nations,” the letter stated.
President Mirziyoyev also noted that the brotherly ties between the two countries are growing stronger and expressed confidence that the upcoming high-level meetings will elevate strategic partnership to a new stage.
For reference, the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference is taking place from October 30 to November 13.
