President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Zelensky published the congratulatory message from Mirziyoyev on his page on the social network X.

"I sincerely congratulate you and the entire Ukrainian people on the occasion of your national holiday, Independence Day. I am confident that relations between our countries, built on traditional friendship and long-term cooperation, will continue to develop in the interests of our peoples. Taking this opportunity, I wish you good health, family happiness, success in your responsible activities, and peace, security, and prosperity to the Ukrainian people," the message reads.

Zelensky thanked Mirziyoyev for his congratulations, expressing optimism about future ties between the two nations.

“I am confident that our countries will continue to develop fruitful cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations for the sake of friendship and prosperity of Ukraine and Uzbekistan,” Zelensky wrote.

For reference, Ukraine celebrates its State Independence Day annually on August 24. The holiday marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Verkhovna Rada in 1991, when Ukraine formally declared independence from the Soviet Union.
