President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate today, October 15, in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the ’’New Tashkent’’ international airport in the Tashkent region, the Presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported.
Today, the Head of State will also visit several industrial facilities in Tashkent city.
Additionally, President Mirziyoyev is scheduled to receive a delegation led by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih, and hold meetings with representatives of the country’s leading business circles.
It is worth noting that on August 27 this year, President Mirziyoyev visited the newly completed airport built on the site of the ’’Tashkent-East’’ airfield. Construction of the airport began in 2017 and covers a total area of 561 hectares. The airport now features a 4-kilometer-long runway and three taxiways, capable of accommodating the heaviest aircraft. A 20-aircraft apron has been constructed, along with hangars for Boeing 787s, A320S, business jets, and helicopters.
