3359On October 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of "Yangi Navoi" (New Navoi) during his tour of the Navoi region. The visit included discussions with local intellectuals and leaders, as the President highlighted the importance of creating a new town to ensure residents' quality living and working conditions.
“Our population is approaching 38 million, and we need to lay a solid foundation for our people,” President Mirziyoyev stated. “By building new towns, we aim to create opportunities for people to work and live comfortably in their hometowns.”
For the first phase of the New Navoi project, 1,100 hectares of land from the Karmana district have been allocated to Navoi City, with 450 hectares designated for immediate construction. Plans for this new development include 7 to 22-story residential buildings, schools with a combined capacity of 4,170 students, kindergartens for 1,620 children, and a polyclinic. The town will also feature the "New Uzbekistan" park and a new Navoi State Pedagogical Institute campus.
While Navoi is already known for its industrial growth, the President emphasized that the service sector’s potential remains underutilized. In response, New Navoi will feature parks, entertainment centers, shops, and restaurants to strengthen the region's service infrastructure.
To facilitate this ambitious project, land plots will be auctioned electronically, and contracts will be signed with winning construction companies to drive development forward under a coordinated directorate.
