Uzbekistan remains steadfast in its support for the right of Palestine to establish an independent state. The President of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reiterated this stance in his speech at the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, currently being held in Tashkent.

"The Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East, which poses a significant threat to global peace and security, deeply concerns all of us. Unfortunately, as a result of this ongoing conflict, the primary victims are often civilians, particularly women, children, and the elderly. The risk of the conflict spreading across the region is becoming increasingly real," Mirziyoyev stated.

He emphasized that it is imperative to prevent the confrontation from escalating into a large-scale conflict.

"We call upon both parties to immediately cease hostilities, engage in peace negotiations, and reach a reasonable compromise," the Uzbekistan leader urged.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously expressed his support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state at the 10th summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Astana, Kazakhstan on November 2-3 of this year. The head of state reaffirmed this position in his recent speech:

"We reiterate our firm stance that the Palestinian people have the right, as confirmed by a United Nations resolution, to establish their own independent state."
