The visit of the president of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov to Samarkand began with a pilgrimage to Islam Karimov's mausoleum.  He went to the complex accompanied by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and laid flowers on the foot of the grave of the first president.  Quran verses were read and prayers were said.

After that, guests from Turkmenistan visited the Mirzo Ulugbek museum-complex.

This complex was established near the observatory built by the great scientist.  The museum consists of two halls and six departments.  It contains more than a hundred items, books, manuscripts, and the original quadrant instrument from the time of Mirzo Ulugbek.

Mirzo Ulugbek's unique observatory and high scientific intelligence left a great impression on the guests.

The presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur. Koran was recited to the soul of Sahibkiran (Amir Temur) in “Go’ri Amir” complex.

The guests were told about the life of the great Temur, his military skills, and his huge state.  It is known that Amir Temur developed science, culture, trade and crafts in the lands he ruled, and built strong monuments.  In particular, the heritage of Sahibkiran is especially valued in the current central Asian countries.

Heads of state visited the Registan complex.

The history of the three magnificent monuments in the complex - Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillakori madrasas was told.  The architectural traditions of the Uzbek people, the patterns on the mausoleums and their meanings aroused great interest among the guests.
