President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, along with their wives, attended a concert featuring the artistic talents of both nations. This was reported by the presidential press service.
Leyla Aliyeva, the daughter of the President of Azerbaijan, and Saida Mirziyoyeva, the eldest daughter of the President of Uzbekistan, were also present at the concert.
"Both Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan hold the cultural contributions of each other’s artists in high esteem. By presidential decree, the sons of the legendary singers Farrukh Zakirov and Polad Bulbuloglu were honored with the title of People's Artist. The concert once again highlighted the enduring friendship, shared traditions, and common values of the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples," the statement read.
It should be noted that earlier reports confirmed President Ilham Aliyev's arrival in Uzbekistan accompanied by his wife. They were received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other officials at Tashkent International Airport. Subsequently, an official welcoming ceremony was held for the President of Azerbaijan at the "Kuksaroy" state residence. Following the ceremony, Presidents Mirziyoyev and Aliyev held a private meeting.
