Mirziyoyev visits Moscow for Victory Day celebrations

On May 8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the people of Uzbekistan in honor of May 9—Day of Remembrance and Honor, marking the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II. The presidential press service shared details of the message.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and the moral strength shown by Uzbek heroes during the war years, noting that their courage and perseverance remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

"In these challenging times, raising well-rounded, enlightened youth and preserving stability, harmony, and peace in our homeland are vital. The courage and determination shown by our ancestors during World War II remain an enduring example for us, guiding us toward a stronger and more united society.

On this memorable occasion, I extend my sincere congratulations to our dear citizens and esteemed veterans, wishing you all good health, happiness, and prosperity," the President stated.

In recognition of WWII veterans and survivors, the government has awarded:

  • $10,000 to war participants and disabled veterans,
  • 25 million UZS to those classified within the same honorary category,
  • 3 million UZS to labor front participants,
  • Commemorative medals marking the 80th anniversary of the victory.

Mirziyoyev attended a remembrance ceremony at Victory Park in Tashkent, paying tribute to fallen soldiers and veterans.
