Mirziyoyev reveals the number of the families that are financially well-off in Uzbekistan

Of the 35.3 million people living in Uzbekistan, 36 percent are well-off families. This was announced today, April 19, at a video conference chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the issues of increasing the effectiveness of the makhalla (neighborhood) system and employment.

It is noted that in three months, the Assistant Governors conducted a complete enumeration of 6,900,000 households with a population of 35.3 million and divided them into four categories. These:

- 11% – low income;
- 47% - needs extra income despite having a steady income;
- 6% – in need of social protection;
- 36% –families with good financial conditions.

Under the new system, every governor, first deputy governor in charge of the economy and assistant governors learned that 64 percent of the population should be covered by clear plans.

In this regard, local officials and assistant governors worked with first- and second-category households, as a result, in 3 months 736 thousand people were employed and local officials trained 54,000 citizens in vocational and business skills.
