The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extended his condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump following the tragic plane crash at Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, D.C. The incident, which claimed the lives of numerous individuals, was reported by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.

In his message, Mirziyoyev expressed profound sympathy for the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as for the American people as a whole.

On January 29, a Bombardier CRJ700 passenger plane operated by American Airlines collided with a Sikorsky H-60 (Black Hawk) military helicopter while attempting to land at Ronald Reagan Airport. Both aircraft crashed into the Potomac River. The plane was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter had three military personnel aboard. Authorities have confirmed the recovery of 18 bodies from the water, with further search operations ongoing.

It is worth noting that, in his congratulatory messages to Trump, President Mirziyoyev invited the U.S. leader to visit Uzbekistan. These messages were sent on November 6, 2024, following Trump's victory in the presidential election, and again on January 21, 2025, in celebration of his official inauguration.
