Mirziyoyev departs for Tajikistan

At the invitation of President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed today, October 9, for an official visit to Tajikistan, the Presidential press service reported.

According to the visit agenda, the head of state will attend the second summit in the ’’Central Asia–Russia’’ format and the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which will be held in Dushanbe on October 9–10.

The events will focus on key issues concerning the expansion of multilateral cooperation.

It is worth noting that yesterday, October 8, Vladimir Putin arrived in Tajikistan on a state visit. His visit will last three days, from October 8 to 10. According to Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, the trip consists of three parts: the state visit, the ’’Russia–Central Asia’’ summit, and the CIS summit.
