13982On 16 August, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
During the dialogue, the current issues on the agenda of strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries were discussed, and opinions were exchanged on regional cooperation.
It is noted that special attention was paid to the implementation of high-level agreements, in particular, to the promotion of priority cooperation projects at the level of regions and entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Russia.
"It should be noted that trade has increased by 30% in seven months of the current year. At the moment, the increase in trade indicators is ensured by increasing the mutual supply of high-value-added products.
Active and effective exchanges are taking place between the regions, and it is planned to hold the third Uzbek-Russian Regional Forum this autumn. Important investment projects and cultural-humanitarian programs are being continued," - the press service of the president’s office of Uzbekistan reported.
In the conversation, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia, first of all, noted the importance of further expanding the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries by continuing joint work on enriching the practical partnership with concrete, high-quality content.
The plan for future bilateral and multilateral events was also discussed. The heads of state specifically focused on organizing and holding the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand in September of the current year.
According to the press service of the Kremlin, the issues of preparation for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be held in Samarkand in September were discussed. In this regard, it was noted that the SCO's high prestige at the international level and the organization's contribution to strengthening regional stability and security is increasing.
"Issues of further development of Russia-Uzbekistan strategic partnership and alliance relations were discussed," - the Russian side said in its statement.
