Mirziyoyev congratulates Pezeshkian on election victory

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was announced by the President's Press Secretary, Sherzod Asadov.
In his letter, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the multifaceted and long-term partnership between the two countries would reach new heights in all priority areas.
“We are committed to consistently and effectively expanding cooperation in political, trade-economic, transport-communication, and cultural-humanitarian fields with your rapidly developing country, which has great potential and opportunities,” the letter said.
It should be noted that yesterday, on July 5, the second round of presidential elections took place in Iran, where reformist Masoud Pezeshkian and conservative Saeed Jalili competed. According to the results announced today, July 6, Pezeshkian won with 53.6% of the vote, while Jalili received 44.3%.
