Mirziyoyev holds a meeting with Erdogan in Astana

Today 13 October, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, within the framework of the summit of the Council on Cooperation and Trust Measures in Asia.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev who warmly welcomed Tayyip Erdogan as his brother, discussed the implementation of high-level agreements on further strengthening of wide-scale strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.

During the dialogue, special attention was paid to the promotion of joint investment projects and the implementation of new business initiatives, and the participation of leading Turkish companies in the process of privatization of state enterprises of the country.

The importance of continuing active humanitarian exchanges, especially in the spheres of culture and education, was noted.

Issues of preparation for the organization of Turkic States, which will be held in Samarkand in November this year, were discussed.  Within the framework of regular meetings of the Ministers in the «Uzbekistan-Turkey-Azerbaijan» format, it was agreed to expand the effective dialogue.
