On June 24, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh held a landmark meeting with business representatives from both countries. This event, reported by the President's press service, marked the first time such a meeting had taken place with Mongolia.

Leading companies from Mongolia and Uzbekistan participated in the discussions. It was highlighted that this format of meeting was unprecedented in Mongolia.

"We acknowledged that we are underutilizing our existing potential and opportunities. Therefore, we have set the goal of doubling our mutual trade in the coming years, primarily by broadening the range and volume of products traded," stated Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Plans were announced to establish trading houses in both Mongolia and Uzbekistan promptly and to organize industrial exhibitions in their capitals. The two nations agreed to draft proposals for preferential trade agreements and to facilitate market access.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of developing industrial cooperation with Mongolian companies. There was mutual interest in importing livestock, meat, and processed meat products, as well as exporting textiles and finished agricultural products from Mongolia. As part of this cooperation, joint clusters will be established for producing Halal meat products and for creating high-value products through advanced processing of wool and leather.

Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan had signed 14 agreements with Mongolia.
