Mirziyoyev meets with Economic Advisor Suma Chakrabarti

4212On November 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Suma Chakrabarti, Advisor on Economic Development, Effective Governance, and International Cooperation. The meeting was reported by the President's press service.
The discussion focused on the progress of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy, particularly its implementation within the framework of the current year’s state program. The conversation also explored future reforms planned for the coming year. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of training and enhancing the skills of public administration personnel.
Additionally, the meeting addressed Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts to join the World Trade Organization (WTO). There was a clear focus on the need to accelerate the alignment of national legislation with WTO rules and requirements, alongside continued efforts to improve the country's position in global rankings.
The President underscored the importance of timely execution of all planned projects and highlighted the need to further enrich the strategic reform agenda with new initiatives. This includes taking into account the objectives set for the Year of Environmental Protection and the promotion of a "green" economy in Uzbekistan.
