The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will travel to China to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the end of World War II. Although the official Tashkent has not yet provided information about the visit, China’s official news agency Xinhua has confirmed President Mirziyoyev’s upcoming trip.
It is reported that 26 heads of state and government leaders will take part in the celebrations in Beijing.
The first foreign leader mentioned in the statement is Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The leaders of Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, the Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Serbia, Slovakia, Cuba, and Myanmar will also attend the festivities in Beijing.
On September 3, a large-scale parade will be held in Beijing. The ceremony will last 70 minutes and will feature the traditional units of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army as well as new divisions of the armed forces, including 45 crews, advanced missile technologies, tanks, aircraft, and domestically produced unmanned systems.
The Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression, also known as the Second Sino-Japanese War, began in 1931 with Japan’s invasion of Manchuria. It escalated into a full-scale war in 1937 and concluded in 1945 with Japan’s surrender and the end of World War II. China is recognized for playing a crucial role in defeating fascism, holding back Japanese forces for many years, and contributing to the formation of the international anti-fascist front.
It is worth noting that the President of Uzbekistan last visited China on a state visit from January 23 to 25 of this year.
