Mirziyoyev hosts leaders of global sports organizations

On April 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the President of the World Swimming Federation and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Hussein al-Musallam, along with the First Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees, Sheikh Jawaher bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting was reported by the presidential press service.

The discussion focused on urgent matters related to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in sports, supporting the Olympic movement, and enhancing conditions for the development of both professional and mass sports in Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikh Jawaher bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the President of Uzbekistan.

The report emphasized, "Cooperation with these international sports organizations has reached a notably high level."

Special attention was reportedly given to strengthening partnerships with the World Swimming Federation, launching specialist training programs, and establishing modern infrastructure for aquatic sports across the country.

The sides also discussed hosting major international competitions, including an Assembly meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia and other significant events organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees in Uzbekistan.
