Mirziyoyev’s visit to Europe expected next month

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to visit Brussels in October, according to a congratulatory message from European Council President António Costa on the occasion of Uzbekistan’s 34th Independence Day.
“I look forward to meeting you in Brussels on October 24, 2025, where we will have the opportunity to continue our discussions on signing the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and Uzbekistan,” Costa wrote.
He also recalled his visit to Samarkand in April for the first EU–Central Asia summit, expressing appreciation for Uzbekistan’s hospitality and noting his positive memories of the event.
The historic summit took place on April 4 at the Samarkand Congress Center, bringing together António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
