Mirziyoyev meets with Saudi crown prince

On November 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital. This was reported by the President's press service.

During the meeting, urgent matters regarding the further expansion of Uzbekistan-Saudi multilateral relations were discussed.

At the outset, the President noted the timeliness and critical importance of holding the emergency summit in Riyadh.

It was highlighted with satisfaction that an active dialogue and exchanges at various levels are ongoing, with growth in mutual trade, investments, and joint ventures.

The discussion covered areas such as “green” energy, the modernization of transport infrastructure, and the promotion of new joint projects in communications, agriculture, and industry.

Special attention was given to upcoming high-level events, including preparations for the second “Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council” summit, scheduled to take place in Samarkand in 2025.

President Mirziyoyev also thanked Saudi leaders for the facilities provided for Uzbeks performing Hajj and Umrah.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional issues, emphasizing a peaceful resolution of the Middle East situation.

Following this, President Mirziyoyev concluded his visit to Riyadh and departed for Baku.

It should be noted that earlier, within the framework of this summit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy.
