Mirziyoyev arrives in Qatar

On November 3, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Doha on a working visit at the invitation of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The information was reported by the presidential press service.

Upon arrival, Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, along with other senior officials.

An honor guard was lined up at Hamad International Airport in tribute to the distinguished guest, and the national flags of both countries were raised.

According to the visit program, on November 4, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the second World Summit on Social Development.

“The Head of our State is expected to put forward a number of initiatives focused on poverty reduction, employment, social justice and inclusivity, expanding access to education, enhancing community resilience, and adapting to climate change,” the statement reads.

It was also noted that a series of high-level bilateral meetings are planned to take place on the sidelines of the summit.
