The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chief Executive Officer of the French Development Agency Remy Riou, today the 17th of March. Remy Riou, is participating in the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Samarkand. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
Practical aspects of expanding multilateral cooperation with the French Development Agency were discussed within the framework of the new Partnership program and “roadmap”.
Currently, Uzbekistan is the leading partner of the agency. The portfolio of joint projects increased by thirty percent last year to $1.3 billion.
Projects are being implemented in “green” economy, modernization of the utility sector, including water supply networks, development of energy infrastructure, animal husbandry and other areas.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of promotion of business support programs, introduction of effective mechanisms of public-private partnership, and cooperation with the “PROPARKO” and “Expertise France” structures of the agency.
